Since July 4, 1845 St. Anne Parish has been faithfully serving the Catholic-Christian community of Olde Richmond and Port Richmond. Founded by Bishop Kendrick, the third Bishop of Philadelphia, under the presidency of James Polk, the 11th president and 5 full presidents before Abraham Lincoln. Our cemetery is the resting place of 38 veterans of the civil war. Many serving in the famous 69th Pennsylvania Regiment, the only regiment to carry a green “Irish” flag into battle. Our great parish has participated in the grand history of our city and nation. Our Parish even had the great honor of receiving John F. Kennedy in 1960, while on the campaign trail to becoming the 35th President of the United States. We have a rich history and a bright future; we are also a cultural landmark for the entire neighborhood. From our famous Christmas Concert and musical recitals, to our Sunday Bingo in our Social Hall, to our Senior Center on Cumberland Street whether it be P.A.L. (Police Athletic League) for the kids or even St. Anne’s Football Team (the mighty Falcons) – St. Anne’s is the place to be in Port Richmond (open to all) come experience the wonderful spirit of Saint Anne’s. Come worship the Lord at our masses, novenas, public rosary and benediction. There is no place under heaven quite like this jewel on Lehigh Avenue. “Once a St. Anner, always a St. Anner.”
